Description:               K10 SolarTAC is an economical heat shield made of micro spherical particles that reflects radian heat energy before it reaches the surface and minimizes the surface temperatures and therefore used for reducing the internal temperatures of buildings.

- These figures are provided for temperatures between +23±2 ºC and for 50±5% relative humidity.

Surface Preparation             :

  • All surfaces should be clean and shall not contain any cement foam, small moving parts, dirt, oil, dust and foreign substances.
  • The surface should be chafed by a water jet or mechanical abrasion for ensuring better adherence.
  • The product can still be applied to the surface even if old paint and coating residues stıck firmly to the surface exist.
  • Bubbles, holes and cracks on the surface should be cleaned and filled with an elastic sealant and should be undercoated with Lanko 124.
  • Thin cracks that may exist on the surface may be eliminated by applying few layers of K10 SolarTAC by brushing the product into and filling the crack up.
  • Absorbent surfaces should undercoated beforehand by Geseras EM2 absorbent surface undercoating material. Undercoating is recommended before the actual application for these types of surfaces since they are not durable and the K10 SolarTAC may not adhere properly to the surface and peel afterwards.
  • Rusty parts of metal surfaces should be cleaned by sand blasting or other similar methods and should be undercoated with an anti-rust undercoat or Lanko 124. Other metal surfaces shall also be prepared before application (by methods such as undercoating, applied grease removal, chafing, etc.) in order to ensure proper adherence of the product to the surface.

Application     :

  • Apply the undercoat suitable for the surface and leave it to dry.
  • Apply K10 SolarTAC by spraying via brush, roller or airless gun in two or more layers until the total thickness reaches the recommended thickness.
  • Leave to dry for about 4 to 8 hours in between layers and leave the surface to dry overnight after the last layer is applied.
  • If applying to larger surfaces, use masking tape to divide the surface into parts to ensure an easier application and better appearance.

Consumption                     : 1,2 – 1,5 kg/m² (for 1 mm film thickness)

Storage Life   :

The expiry date 12 months from the date of production provided that it is stored in sealed (unopened) original package in a dry environment and has not been exposed to direct sunlight and frost.

Safety Precautions/Warnings:

  • Use between +10 Cº and +30 Cº and at 30-80% moisture level.
  • Protect against freezing.
  • No foreign substance may be added in the prepared mortar.
  • Application should not be carried out during harsh weather conditions.
  • The product is sold as ready-to-use and should not be thinned by adding water.
  • While working under conditions that may cause fast drying, the absorbing surfaces shall be undercoated with Geseras PR6 before the application.
  • Wash the used tools with plenty of water after the application. The dried parts shall be cleaned with mechanical means.
  • The material buckets shall be kept tightly close in order to prevent cream formation.
  • Wash with plenty of water in case of contact with skin and eyes. If it causes irritation, immediately contact a doctor. If you experience any respiration problems, immediately get some fresh air.
