Surface Preparation :
- Without damaging the sub-coat, the surface should be cleared from substances such as dirt or dust.
- All loose and chalky paint on old painted surface shall be cleaned and shiny surfaces should become matt.
- Fresh concrete and brick walls should be clean and should be cured for at least 28 days.
- The concrete surfaces should be checked for alkalinity and processing. All form releasing agents and any material that may prevent adherence shall be cleaned. The concrete surface should be chafed with Parexgroup repair mortars.
- The Dry-Tex Acrylic Coating should be applied at least 48 hours after plastering with netting.
- Before the Dry-Tex Acrylic Coating application, the surface should be undercoated with Gesercoomer Primer. Cellular or absorbent surfaces like exposed concrete shall be plastered with Gesterm Plaster 440 Heat Insulating Panel Mortar and then shall be coated with Dry-Tex Acrylic Coating.
- For gypsum panels located on interior facades, the panels shall be prepared in the same manner as for preparation for painting.
Application :
- Use clean equipment for mixing and preparation.
- Pour 4 liters of clean water into a bucket (20 Kgs of Power Dry Tex; use 4.5-5 liters of water)
- If the material is to be colored, add the contents of the color tube. In order to use all the coloring material, fill 1/3 of the color tube with water, close tightly, shake well and pour the contents into the mixing bucket.
- Add ½ a bag of Dry-Tex Finish Coating and mix with a paddle mixer (1/2 inches – 13 mm), free of rust, at 400-500 minutes/cycle.
- The remaining Dry-Tex Finish Coating shall be mixed until it reached the required consistency by adding (0,5-1 liters of) water. For treatment and to obtain the required finish, keep adding small amounts of water.
- In order to prevent color differences, for each 20 kg of finish coating add the same amount of water.
- Always leave a wet side and apply towards corners and joints. To obtain the best color consistency, always use the finish coating with the same lot number for the same Wall section.
- Keep the unused material tightly sealed.
- Use a stainless steel clean trowel and apply the final coat according to the size of the largest aggregate.
- For Fine or Coarse Patterns: Always use a plastic or stainless steel clean trowel. Plastic trowel is better for larger aggregates than stainless steel trowel. During patterning always clean and dry the plastic or stainless steel trowel. In order to obtain the required touch, apply with the same pressure and movements.
- Spray application: In order to obtain a consistent touch and finish, apply with the same movements, pressure, from the same distance and at the same spraying angle. It is recommended to carry out a test modeling application for the surface to be sprayed.
- Adjacent surfaces shall be coated together in the same application.
Consumption: Thin surfaces : 1.2-1.3 kg/m² Thick surfaces: 1.6-1.8 kg/m²
Storage Life :
The expiry date is 1 year from the date of production provided that it is stored in sealed (unopened) original package and not subject to direct sunlight and frost and with maximum 8 times piling.
Safety Precautions / Warnings:
- Use between +5 Cº and +35 Cº.
- No foreign substance may be added to the prepared mortar.
- Absorbent surfaces should be wetted or undercoated with Geseras PR6 before the application.
- The product should not be used if there is a possibility of rain. Extremely hot surfaces should be dampened before application.
- In order to prevent tone differences, products with the same charge number shall be used. If products with different charge numbers are to be used, the whole material to be used shall be mixed beforehand.
- Use a paper band in order to prevent the joint sections to appear for larger surfaces and during application breaks or apply without any breaks in between and use adequate amounts to cover the wet surfaces before the material dries.
- The expired mortar should not be re-used by mixing with water or dry mortar.
- In order to extend the durability of the product, the surface should be watered at regular intervals after application depending on the weather conditions.
- Do not apply under direct sunlight.
- Do not apply on surfaces subject to sunlight for prolonged periods or that are very hot or frozen.
- Do not inhale the dust of the product since the material is cement based; avoid contact with the skin and eyes.
